By intention. Start with what you want the necklace to remind you of. For protection, tradition points to black obsidian, labradorite and tiger's eye, and to amulets like the Witch's Knot; all of them meet in our protection necklaces. For love and tenderness, choose rose quartz or a heart, and for a pet you miss, a paw pendant. For clear, honest speech, lapis lazuli. For courage, tiger's eye or turquoise.
