Orgonite: Handmade Orgonite Pyramids & Pendants
Orgonite is resin, metal and crystal cast together into one solid piece. Every Spirad piece is handmade in small batches with real stones (Brazilian amethyst, lapis lazuli, rose quartz, smoky quartz) and a copper spiral at its heart. Start with our orgonite pyramids or wear it as an orgonite pendant.
What orgonite is made of
Orgonite has three ingredients, always in the same order of importance:
- Resin: the clear or tinted body that holds everything in place.
- Metal: shavings or flakes (copper, aluminum, brass, sometimes gold) spread through the resin. In orgonite tradition, the metal and the resin together are what make it orgonite rather than a plain crystal paperweight.
- Crystal: usually quartz, plus a stone chosen for its meaning (amethyst for calm, lapis lazuli for wisdom, rose quartz for love). Many makers add a copper coil around a quartz point.
The word comes from "orgone", a name for life energy coined in the 1940s. Orgonite itself is a much newer craft, born in the early 2000s.
How to choose your first piece
- Pick the shape for the place. A pyramid sits on a desk, a nightstand or a shelf. A pendant goes with you.
- Pick the stone you are drawn to. Read our guide to crystals for protection if you are unsure; amethyst is the most popular first stone.
- Look at the inside. Good orgonite shows metal through the whole piece, real stone (not dyed glass) and a visible copper coil. Our guide how to choose an orgonite pyramid shows what is inside a Spirad pyramid.
- Check the size and weight. A 60 mm pyramid of solid resin and stone should feel heavy for its size (around 120 g).
